After I joined your EMF-line I have become very much aware of this. It has opened my eyes for what has happened in the last years to research on EMF, especially with respect to mobile phones. Research in Denmark used to be financed primarily by state funds i.e. independant of industry. Now they are following the examples of the US and universities are urged to cooperate with the industry. Large companies pay for specific professor positions and institutes etc. One university is in reality already owned by large electronic and telecommunication companies and all their electronic engineering graduates go directly from university to a well-paid job in one of these companies. There is no research done at this university only developmental work on new and stronger mobile phones. The same will happen at other universities, also with respect to medical sciences and the pharmaceutical industry. Independant science is starved. Also in the European union the various programmes, dealing with EMF and health, the membership is dominated by scientists that have strong links with industry. Therefore negative health effects due to EMF will always strongly be denied as non-documented. Another prevailing view is, that they need to have a positive relationship with industry to get the information.Fortunately there are still scientists, that are not involved in this circus, but things are not easy for them and there will be fewer of them all the time.Sianette Kwee Department of Medical Biochemistry University of Aarhus, building #170 DK-8000 Aarhus C Denmark Ph. +45 - 8942 2869 Fax +45 - 8613 1160 Email --------------1CA1C7F43F60298C03480D5C Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit ...........Response from EMF-L.........
