Dear Roger:

You quiet courage and persistence are a model for us all. The
suppression of the story of your court case by the media is extremely
shocking even if not surprising.

I remember working as freelance producers for a television subsidiary of
Newsweek Magazine years ago. After Judy Irving and I produced a story
about California's so-called "nuclear initiatve," essentially a
citizen-organized ballot measure to stop further construction of nuclear
power plants until they could be proven safe, our boss told us never to
do a story like that again. That led to the founding of our non-profit
group, the Independent Documentary Group. So I know firsthand the
suppression is very much real. Here, our major newspaper, the San
Francisco Chronicle, has never done a story on the citizen rebellion
against cellular antennas. Whether or not they remotely believe there's
any hazard, as a story of political activity in San Francisco, this
should be covered.

I say this to reinforce your sense of the tactics being used against
you. And I applaud your efforts. We are looking for a similar court case
in the US to support since its launching is beyond our financial
capability. All we can do is stand on the sidelines and applaud
everything that you're doing. We also watched the family of Karen
Silkwood triumph over Kerr-McGee Nuclear and we wish you the same
success versus your Goliath.

Thank you, Roger, for taking on this very difficult task. You have
become one of our heroes. Very best, Christopher Beaver
