Beavers" Subject: Re: cordless (fwd) Dear Jennie The cordless phones are in principle similar to cellphones the technology is older the frequency range a bit lower also the power radiated is mostly to be lower. The range depends on too many factors of your vicinity to be a reliable value - the further the range the higher normally the output - the higher the hazard. Most phones have however no labels with this data. If they are given they are in fine print in the manual. However it has the same hazardous effects as a cellphone. A friend of mine died in 1994 after extensive use of such a phone of a brain tumour. There was no doubt in my mind that it was caused by this phone The convenience of the cordless hand set has a "healthy" price. Prudent use is the key - do not use them for any longer call - . Rather buy a coiled extension cord for the hand set of your regular phone. Those are available with up to 25 ft extended length if you need to use your phone this way. regards Wolfgang Wolfgang W.
