Hi everybody:

.....I hope that some of you are getting the idea that I am (admittedly)
**pushing** ... your awareness of these many news stories about the
introduction of new EMF/EMR technologies into our environment (often
without our awareness).....

We are talking (in all of these instances) about the **exponential**
growth of **biologically active** EMF/EMR. The best **scientific**
evidence is **strongly suggestive** that this new "Blue World" dimension
of our environment ... CAN HAVE HUMAN HEALTH CONSEQUENCES.......

Is ANYBODY (any responsible government or other authority) going to
look into this before we find ourselves 'stuck' with it???? The way we
are now 'stuck' with lead and a number of other chemical pollutants
that are proving so difficult to reverse.....

I suggest that the dimensions (in environmental presence) and scope and
lasting "entrenchment" qualities ... of EMF/EMR ... are far greater than
any of the other "pollutants" the human race has yet confronted!!!!......

(Notice the 5.8 GHz frequency of operation for this LAN device....)

Cheerio..... (Thanks, Peter, for the following....)

Peet's Coffee & Tea Deploys RadioLAN Wireless LAN Technology to Store
Locations; RadioLAN Solution Proves to be Interference-free and Delivers
Ethernet Performance

     SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1999--RadioLAN Inc.
announced today that Peet's Coffee & Tea, a nationwide presence in the retail
beverage shop market based in Berkeley, Calif., will begin installing
RadioLAN wireless networks in store locations across the U.S.

Peet's is using the RadioLAN system to update its cash register systems
and plans to provide high-speed, wireless Internet connectivity for its
customers. Peet's reached its decision after successful completion of a pilot
run at the company's downtown San Francisco location.

"Peet's success in a highly competitive market is something we are proud
to complement with our wireless networking solutions," said Mark Bosse,
RadioLAN's vice president of marketing. "Peet's emphasis on providing a
quality environment for its customers matches RadioLAN's unique ability to
deliver an alternative to wired LANS with no compromise in performance and at
a much lower cost than Ethernet."

Peet's challenging requirements -- a limited installation timeframe
coupled with deployment to multiple locations -- made RadioLAN's 10 Mbps
wireless solution a more attractive option than wired Ethernet. RadioLAN's
wireless networking package, which is sold primarily through Value Added
Resellers (VARs), is very easy to install and use, providing additional
incentive. Instead of scheduling complex, time-consuming Ethernet
installations at each store, Peet's has configured a complete installment
kit, containing the RadioLAN system, a pre-tested PC, and simple
instructions, and will mail them to each location. Store personnel with no IT
background can assemble the RadioLAN-based network in minutes.

"Besides cost and simplicity of use and installation, interference was a
major concern for us," said Rawson Hobart, IT manager for Peet's. "A large
amount of radio interference from cell phones and microwave ovens exists in
the typical store environment, especially in downtown areas. In our San
Francisco test location, it was difficult to even get cell phones to work.
We've experienced nothing less than perfect connectivity every time."

All RadioLAN products operate at 5.8 GHz to prevent interference and
provide wireless connectivity at Ethernet speeds. In addition, the RadioLAN
system offers built-in management tools, allowing Peet's IT managers to
administer each store's network from corporate headquarters. According to
Hobart, this has led to unanticipated savings in reduced travel expenses and
faster support and troubleshooting.

Peet's purchased its RadioLAN network through VAR Baseline Services,
Inc., which offers the RadioLAN Guaranteed(tm) program. This program
guarantees that RadioLAN's products are reliable and simple to use and offer
superior performance to all competitive solutions.

"Based on Peet's aggressive rollout schedule, RadioLAN's wireless
network was not only the most feasible solution, it was the only one that
could meet the demands presented by the retail environment," said Rich
Crumley, president of Baseline Services. "Being able to offer RadioLAN
Guaranteed, with its three simple factors of simplicity, reliability, and
high performance, was a huge plus. With it, Peet's can be confident that
their investment is protected and of the highest quality possible."

RadioLAN was founded in 1993 to design and market low-cost wireless LANs
that operate at full Ethernet speed (10 Mbps) and interoperate with existing
10BaseT networks. RadioLAN products are available directly from the company
and through distributors, value-added resellers (VARs), and OEM partners.
RadioLAN's corporate investors include Cisco Systems and Intel; the venture
firms Highland Capital Partners, Sequoia Capital, Draper Fisher Jurvetson,
