To all fellow MAST campaigners---RE THE DAY OF ACTION.
We have had to move the Day back for various reasons, all of which are
important ones- I really apologise if this causes any of you problems,
but it was unavoidable.
We WILL be holding the MAST PROTEST DAY on Weds 14th JUNE and it will be
worth the wait.
We have got clearance from Downing St to be there and a deputation will
hand deliver the petitions.
We are arranging for news coverage with the Daily Express to cover the
story before as well as during the event to get other schools and
community groups, who are not already involved, on board. ( this is one
of the reasons for the delay).
At our school in Goffs Oak we will be taking as many children out of
school for the day as we can- I am confident that we have the support of
the majority of parents. Even if your school only has a few children
out, this is better than none- ( one man/woman can make a difference!)
If you would like a sample of the leaflet that we have given to our
parents to encourage them to join us, please let me know and I will
forward it.
We would then like as many of you as possible to join us at the gates to
Downing St. on the day- we will be presenting petitions at 1pm, but will
arrive from 12 noon. Please come with your posters/ banners/ leaflets/or
whatever else you can think of (as long as its decent!)- we would like
to see residents/parents/campaigners/community groups or anyone that
feels strongly about this issue.
If you have any suggestions or ideas about the protest please let me
know.
I will also have to know rough numbers for the day itself- either if you
are a school taking part or you will be coming to Downing St- please let
me know asap.
If you cannot come but have petitions you would like to hand over, let
me know and we will arrange to take them for you- the more pieces of
paper the better.
We really need this to work- the Stewart Report has got us nearly there,
now we have to show the Govt. that we will not rest until it implements
FULLY the recommendations of that Report.

"Twice Dr. Becker has been nominated for a Nobel Prize in Medicine.
He told me this week that he met resistance in finding funding for his
pioneering research in the same way that scientists and medical people today
cannot get funding for independent research on microwave and electromagnetic
impacts on human health. There are now, he says, too many industrial and
political interests vested in the exponential growth and profits of the
global telecommunications industry, regardless of the impact on cancers and

It was wed 16th June 1999 - and this year was a leap year.
Fortuitious co-incidence or what!!
One year on - and just look what has been achieved by ordinary
people!!
