.........You all remember, I'm sure, how I have ranted and raved
about the Republican political $$$$$$$$ and the distortion this
results-in for the political process....... Well, the Democrats
can "out do" em.......!!!!

How long must the American democracy be put to the test that this
**political fiction** is not destroying the process.....????

The pollsters tell us that this issue is not "high on the list" of
concerns of the U.S. voters this year.......

It is high on the concerns of those who KNOW the damage that $$$$$$$
are doing to distort the political process......!!! It is high on the
list of those who KNOW that the other major concerns of the voters
will not be corrected until the influence of the special interests is
canceled out!!!!!

*** Democrats double top-tier donation

WASHINGTON (AP) - Setting a new gold standard for political giving,
the Democrats are asking their biggest donors to come up with a
half-million dollars each for the party's upcoming gala. Those who
deliver are being promised a sweet political reward: a private dinner
the night before with President Clinton. The Democrats' new asking
price doubles the quarter-million mark that was the standard for both
parties the past few years, including the GOP fund-raising gala with
George W. Bush that raised a record $21.5 million last month. "They
just keep trying to jack up the limits," said Larry Makinson,
executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, a private
group that studies political money. "How long until they have the
million-dollar club? This really shows you there is no end to the
appetite for money." See
