We need multitudes of letters from all across the United States to your
own senators of your state so that we do not get a dictatorship/monopoly
from the utilities and or FERC. Please do this before Wednesday, May
24th so that your senators know your opinion on this. Probably sooner
so the senators have a chance to digest the opposition.

If this passes, our rights to dispute large transmission lines are
eroded.

Deregulation(restructuring) of electric utilities allows utilities to
be competitive as a business. However, determination of property use by
a competitive business, i.e. eminant domain, should not be determined by
a corporation. Land use should be decided by the judicial process of
government and the people, not by the corporation/business.

Simple terms. If I run a clothing shop, should I be allowed to gain
legal access to your yard when I want to expand? Your town board will
not have an opinion, your county will not have a say and you personally
will not have a right to say NO!

This is what the utilities are doing.

Problem with FERC is that when we as citizens tried to get help and they
supported the utilities, based on electric reliability, which is
dictated by the utilities. Catch 22.

Would be better to decline Senate Bill 2098 on the side of the people.
This is what democracy is all about - people's opinion. Better to ERROR
on the side of the PEOPLE?

Unfortunately, they did not propose it for a vote, SO WE NEED LETTERS,
EMAILS, and PHONE CALLS.

Sincerely,
Linda Hanson
