Hi everybody:

........Yes, this is very interesting..... Progress, yes, that too.
But the standard that they seem to have chosen suggests that they
regard the risk as one of "whole body" only - rather than the brain
area....???

Switzerland, Austria -- soon perhaps the U.K. and Japan..... It does
seem that there is a perceptible - but slow - awakening of the Western
Governments of the World to the EMF hazards..... How hesitant they
are, though, to embrace an awareness that the "Blue World" era of
electromagnetic pollution may confront "people" with health hazards
that will grow as the reliance on that "Blue World" technology
continues to explode in our environment..... And it certainly is
NOT just in the cellphones.....!!!

Logic would seem to dictate that at some point ... it would be wise to
get out ahead of the trend and develop some serious **long term**
strategies for coping with the situation.....

Governments do not get out ahead of trends, though, they resist as long
as they can..... Particularly where so many $$$$$$$$$ are involved....
That is ... unless the public DEMANDS action.....

An interesting phenomenon that may parallel what I have just written
above is happening in the U.S. .....Watch what the "soccer moms" are
about to get started in the U.S. viz "gun control" legislation....!!!
Bless 'em!!! Bad as is the gun-totin' environment in the U.S. -- I
doubt that it is wrecking as many lives as is EMF......??!! But -
you can SEE the gun problem, can't you...?? One cannot SEE the EMF
problem..... And the government or the vested interests sure as HELL
aren't going to tell you about it..... Where is the Press???
Has anybody seen ANYTHING in the U.S. press about what is going on in
Britain with Sir Stewart's Group.....????.....

Cheerio..... (Thanks, Lyn, for the item below....)

Dear Roy

Have you seen this? The 2W per Kg is not an impressive safeguard as I
understand the average cellphone puts out less than 5W peak power anyway,
but it is an interesting move by Japan in my opinion.

Japan plans cellphone controls

Japan plans to impose new limits on mobile phone radiowave emissions
next year, reflecting growing concern about health risks from radiation
in one of the world's biggest mobile phone markets, the government said
on Tuesday.

Such a move would be in line with international radiation safety
recommendations that maximum exposure from a mobile phone be less than
two watts per kg (2lb) of the user's weight, an official from the
Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications said. The ministry is now
mulling how to put the new rules into effect, he added.

The number of mobile phone users in Japan swelled to 57.95 million as of
April 30, up 1.9% from a month earlier, meaning almost half of Japanese
adults own one, recent ministry data showed. The number is expected to
hit 70 million, telecom industry sources said.

Sincerely,
Lyn Milnes in New Zealand
