Subject: A chilling article

Dear Roy

While sitting down to dinner tonight I happened to glance at the latest
newsletter from one of the private high schools in Hobart. At the top is a
picture of year 5 students sitting at their desks, each with a new iBook in
front of them. The article says in part:

" New technology has hit Years 5, 6 and 7. iBooks are the newest product
out of Apple and the lucky students are blessed with technology that is
fitting to the new millennium.

The biggest advantage of iBooks is that they don't require any annoying
leads to connect to the internet. This exciting new technology functions
through an in-built aerial which communicates to a base station in a nearby
room. This means students can connect to the internet at any time of the
day, anywhere in the school."

The article goes on to say that more iBooks will be available for other
classes next year.

I have previously had discussions with this school's OH&S Officer and
would like to get some details on this possible health hazard to students,
such as frequency used and output power levels, etc. I will then give this
to the school and the P&F group for their consideration.

Regards

Don
