Dear Roy,

Your comments are very apropos.  Yesterday, I gave a talk in which I told
the story of a baseball umpire who was watching a runner sliding into home
base.  "Safe!"  shouted the ump.  "Hey, whatsa matter, you blind or
something?" yells a fan.  Ump: "I call 'em the way they are."  Fan: "You at
least need glasses!"  Ump: "Well, I calls 'em the way I sees 'em."  Fan:
"Bum!"  Ump: "Maybe I should say I calls 'em the way I thinks I sees 'em."

Moral of the story:  in baseball, at least, there is no such thing as a
"strike," a "ball," a "safe-" or "out-" call, etc., UNTIL THE UMPIRE CALLS
THEM.  We need to find top rated umpires (scientists) who really know how
to call EMFs plays.  And that's no game!  As you suggest, we need to know
what we are looking for.  And I agree that we are finding more and more
relevant "answers".

It is hoped that we can keep our EMF-L discussions going, and in the right
direction!
