Further, citizens will have lost their best hope of countering the propaganda of business/government. Thought you would like to know. Regards, Ed * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The FCC is to decide in two weeks if we will pay a charge every time we sign on to the internet, even if it is a local call. I saw this on the news last night and it sounds like they are leaning in favor of this new law. I, for one, would not stay on the Internet if they do pass this into law, and our news program indicated that the phone companies are behind this and pushing hard to get it passed. I'm getting a letter off tonight to my congressman. Thank you for your time. You can locate your Congressman's address at: http://www.house.gov/writerep/ Please write to him/her. I just heard on CNN, that the FCC will make decision in TWO weeks as to if it is going to allow a CHARGE, equal to a LONG DISTANCE CALL, EACH time you access the Internet! This would stop me from doing genealogy via the computer, what about you? Please write your congressman. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
