Madrid.- The Health Counselor inaugurates an International Congress on
Bioelectromagnetism.
Alcalá of Henares, 11 (Europe Press)
The Health Counselor, José Ignacio Echániz, inaugurated today the
International Congress on "Bioelectromagnetism: Science, Medicine
and Progress". This event is celebrated in the University of Alcalá of
Henares, with more than 200 participants, among those are physicians,
biologists, engineers and University professors.
Mr. Echániz, made a special emphasis on the history of this science,
in its double function as a diagnostic therapeutic tool, and as an
environmental science.
He underlined the multidisciplinary character of this matter that has
congregated an heterogeneous group of scientists.
The counselor insisted on the international projection of this
Investigation Center that during ten years has obtained ten patents in
Bioelectromagnetism. This under the supervision of Professor
Bardasano, director of the Medical Specialties Department of the
University of Alcalá.

BIOELECTROMAGNETISM CONGRESS:
An expert denounced the risks of radiation of mobile telephones.
Alcalá of Henares, Nov.12. (EFE)- Mr. Manuel Muntané said : "The health
risks of electromagnetic radiation of mobile telephones are near to be
determinated.
He also said that the deterioration of the "cerebral permeability "
produced is demonstrated since 27 years ago by a Russian Study.
The real health risks of electromagnetic radiation of mobile
telephones are unknown and these mobile phones should never have been
put on the market without a preliminary study about the health risks,
mentioned Mr. Muntané in an interview with EFE.
Mr Muntané , ( an engineer and investigator) denounced the "hermetical
legal gap" that exists in this regard in Europe and that "it leaves
citizens without protection ".
We can not define a degree of risk, with the information provided by the
European Commission, because it limits the technical and legal attention
to a measurement unit of the warming. It does not help determine the
health risks by "non thermal alterations" as in cancer. This is our main
concern.
Mr. Muntané´s proposal is that the European regulation considers the
power unit that permits to measure the health risk.
For example: If a repeating station of mobile telephony is measured by
the emission of warming, the scope of the radiation is 2 meters, but if it
is measured by the power density it is 30 Kilometers, he explained.
According to him, "the health risks of the mobile telephony are long
term, even though, a mobile telephone near a human ear, emits radiation
over three million times more powerful than the solar radiation, he
affirmed.
Mr. Muntané began to investigate the dangers of electromagnetic
radiation of mobile telephony in human health as a personal problem, since
his house was 5 meters from a repeating station that, " at the moment,
produces immediate pain", he said.
The general ignorance on this matter and the existing legal gap in this
regard were the first problems found by Muntané, who has gotten that the
Town Hall of San Cugat del Valles, orders the removal of the repeating
