Ericsson have withdrawn their application to build the tower. After getting several parents to agree to remove their children and making sure the community knew who would be directly accountable if kids got sick, the Headmaster started having second thoughts. It still came down to simple economics, the loss of income from the students was substantially more than the revenue from the site. Still chalk one up for the little guy! Here is the "offical" reason and I quote "Due to large public dissatisfaction with our application for Milnerton Primary we feel that, although there is no actual health risk, to proceed wuold have a negative public opinion consequence for the third operator. Therefore we are withdrawing our application for planning consent for Milnerton Primary. We will erect our commercial launch site at the Telcom/Vodacom mast at 111 Koeberg Rd." The Koeberg Road mast is on a large open field and is therefore a more sensible choice, and mast sharing should have a lesser impact on the environment. Thanks to everyone who helped me and I would like to be of assistance to anyone else if I could.Mike Dixon --------------AAD0511D0F905E8CFACC00C6 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit .................From EMF-L...........
