........From an EMF-Ler of a scientific bent.......

The science community will scoff at this...... O.K. ... So, why don't
they try some of the same in their "controlled" laboratories..... It
doesn't take Million$$$$$.... As, Joanne says below: You can't find
what you are not looking for......!!!

Joanne, I was there -- at the RAPID study.... It was worse than you
say. The truth is: You can't find THAT WHICH YOU ARE DETERMINED NOT
TO FIND.......guru.......

Hi Roy and All - Dr. Carolyn Bormann mentioned in a recent email that
she believes "a live cell response or lympthocyte study is about the best
objective marker ......"

Due to the fact that two of my grandsons have rare immune deficiencies and we
were able to bring about improvement in the health of both boys by reducing
their exposure to EMR plus the fact that we had a cat who developed leukemia
AND the fact that the EMF RAPID Study indicates possible link to leukemia in
children exposed to low levels of EMF/EMR, I began to wonder what would show
up in blood tests of other animals living in the same cirumstances -- only 50
ft. from two high voltage powerlines and sleeping adjacent to the powerwall
(as was the case re grandsons). We also had a yellow labrador with severe
epilepsy who required several pills a day at a cost of about $30 per month!!!!

I reasoned that BLOOD was the problem in my grandsons (although "symptoms
were asthma, sinus infections, ear infections). BLOOD was the problem in our
cat. A cancer of BLOOD (leukemia) is a possible problem linked to EMF
RAPID.......

We now have three pet guinea pigs who sleep every night on top of soft baby
blankets in their cages of pine bedding and are served great-looking salads
twice a day plus Vitamin C, timothy hay and their regular pellets. We even
hire a "babysitter" when we go away so they won't "wheep" for their salads.
I make mention of the salads because we have discovered a delay in the onset
of blood changes in the two youngest guinea pigs. The other "piggy" was
served salads too but we weren't including spinach, green pepper and parsley
before she developed blood problems. Obviously the antioxidant properties
from high levels of Vitamin C and other nutrients really do help!!!

I consulted with a veterinarian before purchasing any animals to ensure that
a couple of blood draws could be done without undue stress and/or the need to
anesthetize the animal. Only one test is done per visit, of course. IgG
testing would be out of the question for several reasons BUT, since I knew of
a couple unusual blood tests of my own that indicated a lowering of my
neutrophils and elevation of my lympthocytes, we agreed that could be done by
a relatively simple and quick toenail clip. Costs are another matter!!!!

I was disappointed about problems with IgG testing but was hopeful about the
CBC and differential tests.

It wasn't long -- within a couple of weeks -- that I began to notice
breathing problems. At the time, we had another guinea pig who subsequently
died, so we have had a total of four.

The cage was moved away from the powerwall (grandsons' beds had also been
adjacent to powerwalls in their respecftive homes), blood tests were done
and sulfa was administered by syringe twice a day. Both cavy's (another
name for "guinea pig") responded to treatment at least temporarily.

Their CBC and differential tests indicated one was o.k. and the other had
"hypersegmented neutrophils" That means "slowed DNA synthesis." Turns out
the one that was initially o.k., developed severe breathing problems in spite
of being moved to the much lower "fields" in the basement and died. Necropsy
revealed "proliferative epicarditis." The word "proliferation" pops up a lot
in articles regarding cancer.

Dr. Marjorie Lundquist came across a journal article regarding a single dose
of X-ray to a rabbit's heart that was diagnosed as "pancarditis." The first
symptom of pancarditis is listed as "epicarditis......"

The guinea pig who survived and was diagnosed with the hypersegmented
neutrophils soon developed a severe case of osteomyelitis. This responded to
an extended round of sulfa and she continues to thrive on her high
antioxidant diet. Her CBC and diff is now normal. Her cage remains in the
basement.

The two youngest guinea pigs were purchased this summer and initial CBC and
diff testing was normal for both. A repeat of the CBC and diff on 9-7-00
indicated "a reversal" in one and the other was normal. The reversal was
considered normal at the time. This means that neutrophils were going down
and lympthocytes were going up (same results on a couple of my tests).

In October, I was diagnosed after CBC and diff test as having "a left shift."
This means there are more of one kind of cell than another. I am waiting
for the copy of lab report to confirm its exact meaning. A second test a
week ago was said to be normal. The significance of this is that I slept
for almost three weeks in the front bedroom of our house which is only 50 ft.
from two high voltage powerlines while my folks were visiting from Texas. I
am now sleeping in the back bedroom with somewhat lower EMF levels.

A couple days ago, I thought I heard one of the youngest set of piggies
sneeze or cough. To the vet..... One has neutropenia with a count of only
7%. Also lympthocytosis with a count of 89%. Neutrophils are supposed to be
higher than lympthocytes. "Lympthocytosis" is referred to as a leukemic
state in my home medical book.

The other one of this youngest set, has "hypersegmented neutrophils!!!"
This is the piggie who has had two completely normal CBC and diff tests since
arriving at our home. This test is also a replication of the unusual
abnormality found in one of the first two guinea pigs....... According
to a website by a pathologist, Dr. Ed Friedlander, with the title "White
Cells," (about page 20 or 22 of a 70 page site), "hypersegmented neutrophils"
are classified as "ODD Neutrophils." There is a picture of the
hypersegmented neutrophils with the caption of "slowed DNA synthesis."

Both guinea pigs are now receiving sulfa by syringe twice a day. Their EMR
exposure has been reduced. I seriously doubt whether the one with
neutropenia and lympthocytosis will live very long. She "popcorns" and eats
just fine right now tho. "Popcorning" is a little jump guinea pigs do when
they are happy. They also purr.... I cry.....

Neutrophils are made in the bone marrow. Lympthocytes come from lympth
glands, the spleen and something to do with intestines. Blood is listed in
many journal articles as being "particularly radiosensitive......."

This past week I have also printed out many abstracts regarding various
exposures to radiation and effects on lympthocytes. I will send information
regarding the most relevant ones soon.

I can't help wonder WHY there are so many references in the EMF RAPID
conclusions that DO NOT have to do with white blood cells and lympthocytes
when the EPA had plenty of information back in the Bush administration
regarding a link to leukemia???? I have come across all kinds of studies
on Medline also having to do with erythrocytes, eosinophils, monocytes,
urine, saliva, etc., etc. having to do with effects from radiation. These
are not necessarily related to EMF RAPID.

As they say, "you can't find what you are not looking for!!!" Take care
everyone - Joanne Mueller
