Roy,
If anyone is interested in getting a copy of the film, they can contact the
Council on Wireless Technology Impacts or just send us a check to the
address below. We have been getting many requests already even though we
have not launched a broad distribution program yet. We are charging $30.00
per video for internet sales, including mailing within the U.S. We
encourage rapid deployment be those who want others to see it, jut take it
to your local duplication store!
The film is entitled "Public Exposure: DNA, Democracy and 'The Wireless
Revolution". EON International, in association with The Council on
Wireless Technology Impacts, produced this film. We made it to responsibly
portray the circumstances surrounding the "The Wireless Revolution" from a
citizen's rights and consumer advocacy perspective.
We want to inform the the people about what the
telecommunications industry prefers not to discuss -- how wireless
technologies were introduced on a massive scale while scientific studies
showed there may be risk to human health-- why there still remains
continuing and unresolved health and safety concerns related to this
technology -- why policy makers are unable to get clear scientific answers
to the simple question, "Is it safe?"
The film covers what knowledgeable citizens and professional are
saying -- Featured scientists include Drs. John Goldsmith, Neil Cherry,
Henry Lai, Jerry Phillips, Per Segerback and Ollie Johannsen. EMF
Consultant Cindy Sage, the Austrian Conference on Cell Towers and Public
Health. California Senator Tom Hayden, Actor Linda Evans, Libby Kelley, Deb
Carney, Eva Marsalek in Austria and, Monica Kauppi and other citizens from
around the world help tell the story.
The story is how citizens everywhere oppose cell towers while local
government stands with their hands tied, unable to represent the people who
elected them -- victims of brain tumors speculate about whether it was
their use of a cell phone that caused their tumor . People enjoy the
convenience of connectivity but wonder whether "going wireless" is a smart
solution to problems of sustainibility and community. These are the big
questions of the day -- as the world grapples with the complex health and
safety issues accompanying the introduction of wireless technology into our
everyday lives.
At the film's conclusion, we make a clear call for collective citizen
action, to support more precautionary policies in the U.S., as many other
nations are now doing. For example, Swiss and Austrian governments and
many Eastern European countries have set more protective exposure standards
for human exposure to radio frequency radiation; the Scottish Parliament
has ruled against siting towers nearby homes, schools and hospitals; the
United Kingdom just released a scientific report calling for more
precaution, especially limiting of cell phone use by children; and, the
City of Toronto's Health Officer is calling for lowered standards and
emissions monitoring because "citizens have a right to know what they are
being exposed to."
Here in the United States, the numbers of cell towers, broadcast towers and
wireless Internet antennas are increasing rapidly. About 100 million
Americans, over 35% of the U.S. population, now own a cell phone. Until
citizens learn the truth and take action, the siting of towers and antennas
will continue unabated. The level of "electrosmog" or, ambient background
radiation, will increase in our communities and workplaces. Learn more
about this important societal issue. Become more empowered by what you
know. Help us speak truth to power!
