Almost all of the cars we have looked at have an EMF ranging between 15 to 50 milligauss in the front seat (driver and passenger side, from the knees down to the floor). The field is not coming from the tires. Levels drop to 0 with the car turned off and jump up high with the engine on and the car in park. Levels don't change significantly when the car is in motion. Sometimes levels would increase with acceleration. Does anyone know the likely source of these high fields, and has anyone found a way to reduce these fields? (I remember the discussion about high emf coming from steel belted tires and how to mitigate that.)
