It has been about three (maybe more) years ago that I suggested that the
REAL PROGRESS on unraveling this EMF subject ... would come when we started
getting the input from scientists OUTSIDE the U.S.......
Why?? Our science has gotten just about as **screwed-up** as our
politicians ... and for the same reason -- $$$$$ conflict of interest $$$$$.......guru.......

Hi Roy
For some time I have been in communication with a member of the Ukrainian
Biophysicial Society and as a result of those ongoing discussions they have
written a review of the Russian / Ukrainian EMR literature, focussing on
non-thermal effects. Their time for writing the review was funded by
Alasdair Philips and it is currently being translated in Japan by a
colleague of Arthur Firstenberg. A truly international effort!
When finished the full report will be on my web site, which is now
undergoing a long overdue upgrade.
In the meantime here is a summary of the paper. Note point no. 10,
considering the recent reports of increasing numbers of children taking up
mobile phone use and a corresponding decrease in smoking amongst this group.

INFLUENCE OF HIGH-FREQUENCY ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATIONS OF NONTHERMAL
INTENSITIES ON THE HUMAN BODY

Summary:
A theme of the review is a biological action of high-frequency
electromagnetic fields (HF EMF) of nonthermal and superlow intensity,
submitted in the articles of the Russian and Ukrainian researchers. The
questions are considered: a natural electromagnetic background on the
Earth; a brief history of researches in former USSR from a beginning of
occurrence of high-frequency engineering. The action of low intensive HF
EMR already at a level of water, isolated cells, microorganisms and
animals is shown. An activity of modulated EMR and effect of supersmall
dozes, dependence of biological effect on an initial state of biological
object are marked.
The unique clinical data on influence of nonthermal intensity EMF on
acupuncture points are considered. Own EMR of the human body in HF range
is a parameter of a condition of his health. In many works the important
role of the acupuncture points and Chinese meridians system in reception
and transfer of a signal of weak HF EMR and a regulator role of this signal
in the body are underlined.
Now there is no uniform theory describing the biological effects of the
nonthermal HF EMR. In the review the different approaches to this problem
based on radiophysical and medical data, the theories of the information,
synergetics etc. are submitted. The scientific groups working in this field
are characterized.
Some data on influence of a high-frequency communication facility
(radar-tracking stations, satellite communication, cellular telephones,
personal computers) on the people health are submitted. Genetic mutations,
cancer, decrease of immunity, acceleration of puberty, aggravation of
chronic diseases, occurrence of conditional reflexes and so on can be
results of this influence.
Many facts testify, that EMR of the non thermal intensities have specific
mechanisms of action on biological systems, which considerably differ from
thermal action (heating of a tissue). The modern EMR standards take into
account only power level of EMF, though frequency range, modulation,
polarization, degree of a coherence, structure of a field can be the active
factors too. The physiological state of the man is not less important.
In Ukraine and Russia the methods of an estimation of human reaction on
influence of low intensity HF EMR are applied in practice of microwave
resonant therapy and quantum medicine. There are, for example, infrared
thermography, electroencephalograpy and myography, cell
micro-electrophoresis, factor analysis of the immune system parameters ,
electropuncture diagnostics. These methods are fast, precise and painless,
and they can be standardized. Such databank should exist in each country.
In a data accumulation process the real picture of EMF action on health of
the people will appear. The tendencies become clear: the increase of
sensitivity or adaptation to HF EMF take place. Then the proved EMF
standards can be accepted. Besides each man can choose the behaviour and
mode of life, least harmful to himself, depending on the individual
reaction to EMF.
On the basis of the considered works in the review the following
conclusions are made:
1) The frequencies of 109 - 1012 Hz are similar to natural frequencies of
oscillations in albuminous molecules, DNA, RNA, oscillations of membranes
and other parts of the cells, conformation transitions in enzymes, that
creates an opportunity of resonant absorption of HF EMF.
2) The organism as a whole can have own resonant frequencies: from an
alive cell up to the man
3) HF EMF, modulated by low frequencies close to rhythms of a brain,
heart, internal bodies, have the amplified action. Modulation by
infra-frequencies in a range of 5-16 Hz render strong negative influence on
the men and animals.
4) The EMF absorption in the acupuncture points is many times more
effective, than in other sites of a skin, and this energy through Chinese
meridians system acts on the internals and an organism as a whole.
5) At the moment of a cell division the genetic information becomes
"open", chromosomes are mobile and they are much more accessible to
influence of EMF. The external resonant field can cause an expression of
genes bound with a cancer and change the program of development of a cell.
6) The manifestation of EMF effects depends on an age, state of health:
the able-bodied adults have the minimal sensitivity; embrios, children,
elderly people, the patients with the latent mental and physical
frustration test significant influence, down to lethal outcome.
7) A combination with other damaging factors: an ionizing radiation,
toxicants, geomagnetic anomalies, stresses considerably strengthens action
of HF EMF.
8) The accumulation of mismatches in work of the cells at a chronic or
quasi-periodic irradiation results in disturbance of biorhythms, dispersion
of attention, indistinct phases of dream and wakefulness; a man is not
capable to be restored.
9) There is an influence of HF EMF through hormonal system, immune system
with amplification and accumulation of effect; through catalysts of cell
respiration and biosynthesis. It happens to connect these reactions
nonspecific, them difficultly correlate with the fact of an irradiation of
non thermal intensity HF EMF.
10) The appearance of narcotic dependence ( by making of endorphyns) is
possible under a regular irradiation by HF EMF.
