A back-log of hundreds of e-mail messages. Two jobs. Getting out the next issue of NETWORK NEWS ... which will soon be out. Completing the arrangements for a new server to handle EMF-L.... She assures me everything is on track and will be completed.... God Bless her!!! We used to have saying in the Navy, "If you want to make sure a job gets done ... give it to the busiest man." (We had no women in the "ranks" then.) I expect her soon to have an "update" message out that will reassure everyone about the future restart of EMF-L...... It will be done!!! Have faith........ In the meantime, some of you may be interested to know that I have completed my arrangements to attend the Annual (EMF Research) CONTRACTORS REVIEW in San Diego in November.... See you there..... No doubt the Americans in our group are watching (with dismay!!!) the performance of our "democratic system" (Wealthocracy!!!) ... as the House and Senate make it "look like" they are going to _do something_ about the American political system ... which now has BIG MONEY fully in control of our government AT ALL LEVELS -- including those bureaucratic levels which are "tilting" EMF "science" in favor of the electric/telecommunications industry's vested interests. They (the House and Senate) are not going to do anything!!! They are confident that it will "all blow over" before the next election..... The American voters will forget. (Only Senator John McCain seems to still have some faith in the people and the system he spent five years as a POW to preserve.....) But...... guru says: "fixing" the campaign contributions laws will not BEGIN to fix all the problems created by a WEALTHOCRACY that responds to MONEY (codewords: profits, jobs, economic development, etc.) and nothing else ... in the form of huge lobbying and "P.R." staffs, paid advertising, as well as a media which is "establishment" owned and controlled. The Wealthocracy will still govern ... even after a new set of campaign laws is passed...... As the polling is clearly showing, the American voters are discouraged NOT by the "technical" application of the "rules" that are in the headlines (where a phone call was placed, for example, or the _patently superficial_ definition of "soft"/"hard" money). The apathy and disenchantment of the American voters is clearly in response to what they see as "a system" that is going to be controlled by MONEY no matter how the rules are changed or written!!! ... So long as we are being served by public servants who are for sale ... ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!!!!!.... .......Legislators who place "vested interests" above the public interests. .......Bureaucratic appointees who are fully committed to the "revolving door" of government and private service, unwilling to put their "integrity" above considerations such as a high paying job with the industry they should be policing (or "scientists" who worry more about "vested interest" funding for their next research project ... than reporting the "unwelcome" truth of their research findings -- which will endanger that funding)..... ........A news media industry that "fears" to "offend" the BIG MONEY advertisers ... or, clearly in some cases, their OWNERS!!!!.... That is why the President's (and the Vice President's) protestations of "everybody else does it" is falling on deaf ears..... Yes!! Everybody else does do it!!! We agree.... But everybody else didn't sell the White house, Mr. President!!! You did....... (And, with the exception of Senator McCain and a FEW others, the Republicans are equally guilty, and are simply engaging in HYPOCRITICAL posturing -- NOT serious public interest legislating.....) As in the EMF case -- which this group knows well -- standards OTHER than _the PUBLIC good_ are now in control of Washington ... as the nation comes to the end of this, the twentieth, century........ Refresh your study of American history... It was the same at the end of the last century ... until Teddy Roosevelt got into the White house and surprised his BIG MONEY backers by challenging the political culture of that time with a series of reforms that (at least partially) returned the government to the people. Is it possible that we are about to see another "T.R." ... in the shape of John McCain??????? Without some similar cultural/political "revolution" ... the future of our Democracy ... as well as the truth about the health hazards of electromagnetic radiation ... will not have much of a chance to prevail........
