Hi everybody:

.......Apropos to what is written below ... I just finished watching a
two-hour program called "The Tobacco Wars." It was narrated by Walter
Cronkite. It is a NEW production -- very up to date with the latest
developments -- shown on The Learning Channel (TLC)..... If you get
a chance, see it! They repeat their programs often on that channel.....

As I was watching, my skin began to crawl ... as I realized I was seeing
the very same drama we are "living through here and now" ... in the EMF
saga!!! But the very same plot and "characters" (same lines) were
played out (exactly the same) starting fifty years ago and right up to
today ... in the tobacco saga....

It is eerie to see that the lies and dissembling (phony research schemes
included) that we are encountering from the industry and the government
today ... are so much the same as the tobacco story.....

That similarity could be discouraging too -- but we have the advantage of
having seen, lived through and learned from the tobacco wars..... We can
do better!!!!!!

Try to see The Tobacco Wars -- on TLC...... (Worthwhile commentary
below, too, don't miss it......)

Cheerio......

Subject: Re: Last nights 20/20 program on ABC

Thank you for notifying me about the show last night. I was not going to
watch, but at 10:00 I had a sudden feeling I should change my mind, and was
glad that I did.

I thought the spokesman who was ignoring 40 years of what waves of various
types can do to the human head, and thinking processes was as convincing as
usual. If I had not experienced wave forms creating damage, I would tend to
believe the spokesperson. I am so glad ABC aired the show.

The people involved in covering up the damages that can be caused seem just
as determined as ever to continue.

What can be done that will change their minds except being able to show
damages in court rooms? The legal associations, and even the law schools,
seem against that option. Try talking to a personal injury lawyer about
bringing this kind of case, and he finds the idea of injury from wave forms
as too vague. [......For decades, the trial lawyers felt the same way
about smoking and lung cancer -- "too vague"......guru.....]

When the scientific community is starting to press the point, that seems like
a step forward. That was terrific to learn about in the 20/20 show, for me.
Then there is the fact that the telecommunications companies are being
enabled to escape liability. My question is whether that makes Congress
liable for letting the telecommunications companies exempt?

[.......The way you make Congress liable is vote 'em out of
office!!!.....guru.....]

Thank you for all the updated e-mails I receive.
Laurel
