Dear Roy.

It has been 18 months since I entered the EMF playing field. The patterns
I am now witnessing in South Africa have been repeated all over the
globe. My God but this is a huge Goliath we are all up against. The press
in South Africa have gone completely silent on the EMF issue. (guess who
their advertisers are??? guess who sponsors every major sporting event in
the country, guess who sponsors our TV and who owns the radio??) This is
despite my efforts at not only virtually writing the articles for our
journalists, sending them copies of newspaper clippings from the UK,
e-mailing them, giving them contact numbers, relating the story into a
South African one and then - the journalist writes the article but hey!!
The editor simply scratches it. On the rare occasion when an article does
hit the press, MTN and Vodacom spokespersons (our two giant networks)
ALWAYS get a say. What about the spokes person from the other side? (me)
NOPE!!! NEVER!! ( Despite the hard work and time I put into the
article.sob!!)

The latest effort:- I gave the story to our press about a Doctor who had
a patient grow a brain tumour the size of a global in 3 months. The
Doctor believes it was caused by his cell phone, the victims widow
believes the same thing, the Neurosurgeon believes the same thing and is
willing to speak to the press. But the editors of the papers say..."we
did a brain tumour victim story last year...."

Talk radio is bored of the issue, finds the contradictions confusing and
irritating.

Ironically the lawyers representing Vodacom all have Microshields on
their phone. Staff within the two industries have purchased the
Microshield and pulled off the logo to avoid being raked over the coals.
Staff within the cellular stores, who spend hours a day re programming
the pay as you go cards for the lazy customer, all have symptoms and yet
are too scared to discuss it with their boss.

AAARRGGHGHG!!!!! The only way to get the press to write or to get the
networks to listen is to throw a ton of money into a marketing campaign
with money that talks. The giant insurance groups or CANCER institutions(
that in South Africa have access to free advertising space on radio and
billboards and newspapers, but ovarian and lung cancer are more important
right now) have to wake up to this issue. How will we ever be heard by
enough people to make a difference ?

I have contacted and written a long letter to our Ministers of
Telecommunication, health and education. I bombard them with overseas
newspaper articles too. I constantly bombard the cellular industry hoping
that one day one wise and intelligent person with the power to make a
decision or two will listen.

We all need to put our heads together, to make ourselves heard (to coin a
phrase from Ericsson)

Maybe a powerful letter/petition with an incentive(example a holiday to
be won,) needs to be sent out on the internet, to every address we know
with the request to forward it to every address that they know. ( a
recent missing persons picture was sent to me and apparently the
information could be passed around our 2 million modem users in less
than 48 hours if we did the above) Imagine sending a petition with
millions of signatures to your governments web site, the giant Networks
etc?? get lists of victims names suffering from symptoms..... your
thoughts????

I am not a technical person, but is there a way that this could be
done????

Yours

Mandi Chipps

Mandi:

I have no faith whatsoever in petitions -- or even public
demonstrations....

I think we can all agree that their interest (the industry AND the
government) is the $$$$$$$ profits involved..... And what those $$$$$$
mean to the political as well as the economic system.....

I believe THAT is the way to "get their attention" -- In the value
of their shares on the financial markets.....

To my knowledge, there is now NOT ONE single major insurance
company that is willing to write 'casualty liability coverage' insuring
them (the companies) against the "EMF liability risk" -- the risk of
damages to property or health or life.....

I believe that this fact is not generally known -- even, perhaps,
on Wall Street??? (Though, I suspect the financial press does know.
They are simply keeping quiet about it.....)

Let's make sure the whole world knows about it.....

Maybe some of those avaricious, yuppie, 'smart' investors who are
smoking all that high-tech opium on Wall Street ... will decide to
find out: Hey!! What does the insurance industry know -- about EMF
hazards -- that we don't know?????

And when they find out..........

Cheerio.....

Guru......
