Subject: Your electrosensitivity

Rose, I read with interest your message to Roy Beavers, which he has posted. There is no doubt in my mind: you became electrosensitive! You are also exhibiting some of the symptoms of multiple chemical sensitivity, which very often accompanies electrosensitivity.
You might want to subscribe to ELECTRICAL SENSITIVITY NEWS. Write to the editor, Lucinda Grant, here in the USA. Her address is:

Because you write that you are moving to the bush, I wonder whether you might like to try an experiment. Perhaps you don't know it, but electric power companies put radio-frequency signals on electric power lines, and I strongly suspect that it is the radio-frequency field around the power lines that produces adverse health effects, including electrosensitivity. But to test this idea, I need to find out whether an electrosensitive person reacts to electric power that is free from radio-frequency fields. So far, this experiment has not been done by anyone that I know of.
Would you and your husband consider the idea of generating your own electricity, after you have moved to the bush? You could do this with a diesel generator, I think. The electricity you generate would be free from the radio-frequency signals that the electric power company adds, and if you did not react to your own electricity, then you could enjoy the benefits of electric power in your bush home, without any of the harmful effects!
If you are not sure you want to do this, there is something else you could do, by way of experiment. Out in the Australian bush, there are probably some stations where there is electricity generated on-site. If you visit such a place, simply notice whether you experience any distress during your visit. If not, it would suggest that you could generate your own electricity without harmful effects on your health.
One way or another, I would like very much to know whether you react badly to ALL electricity, no matter where or how it is generated; or whether it is only electricity that comes from a commercial power company that is harmful to your health. I suspect the latter is the case.
If you can find a way to perform such a test on yourself, I hope you will share with me, and with everyone else, what you discover.
Good luck at your new home in the bush! -- Marjorie Lundquist

P.S. I spent 15 months in Australia, from 1965-1967. I never visited Queensland, but I toured the southeast (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide) by car. I lived in Adelaide while I was there, and made one trip near the interior of the country (north of Spencer Gulf, to Wilpena Pound near the Flinders Range of mountains). I found the country very beautiful, and was sorry to have to leave to return to the USA.
