Thank you for posting (and appreciating!) my long email yesterday. I have
not copied it all below as the file was getting rather long, but I do want
to respond to these two paragraphs positively - and agree that, yes,
probably the best for all is for Clinton to resign and quietly work to
redeem himself. Also I add something more about BSE for non-EU readers, and
compare it to cell-phones and asbestos.

Yes, I am old enough (just) to remember the Profumo affair in 1963 (I was
12 then) and the outraged indignation of my parents and their friends -
even if I was not sure what prostitutes actually were! (Mandy Rice-Davis
and Cristine Keeler, I think, even their names stuck in my memory it
seems). John Profumo also owned and charged high rents for run-down city
apartments. He resigned and I think went to prison for a while. Anyway the
positive side came out later when he devoted the rest of his life working
for poor and disadvantaged people in East London. His later actions (which
recieved virtually no publicity or public thanks) far more than compensated
for his earlier behaviour - so I am sure that 'redemption' (whatever that
is) really can be earned. Lets hope Billy does likewise - however unlikely!

In yesterday's email from me I talked about BSE sort-of assuming everybody
knew about it - we do, this side of the pond! Anyway, thanks for saying it
was "mad cow disease" which was (officially) caused by making cattle into
cannibals by feeding them processed dead cows as high concentrate protein
(what a crazy, crazy, world). This wasn't cheap-jack companies trying to
make a fast buck - the process was suggested by the UK Ministry of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as a way of (a) getting rid of an unwanted
waste meat products and (b) providing a very cheap source of easy to digest
protein.
In fact there is good evidence (denied by MAFF and the Government) that
feeding dead cows to other cows is only part of the problem. Our cattle are
compulsorily painted with an organophoshate pesticide each year to prevent
"warble fly" attacks - these flies lay their eggs under the skin of the
cattle beast and develop inside. There is some good evidence that this OP
(remember the OP 'Gulf-War syndrome!! - same chemicals!) treatment is an
important BSE trigger in activating the prion proteins.
Anyway, I said in my earlier email that in 1995 we had 6 identified cases
(deaths) of new-varient human CJD ("mad human disease") which were strongly
linked to eating BSE meat products. We now have 27 identified cases.
Old-fashioned CJD usually takes over 30 years to develop in the human brain
before it is recognised and so it is a disease of the over 50's. We now
have 27 confirmed cases of nvCJD in about 10 years. The big, completely
unknown fact, is: are we seeing the tip of an enormous epidemic which will
only start to be truely seen in ten to twenty years time? And does this
remind you of my (and others) predictions of an epidemic of cell-phone
related illnesses again in a similar time scale?
Asbestos was banned in most Western countries over 20 years ago. Deaths
from mesothelioma (a lung cancer solely caused by inhalation of asbestos
fibres) are expected to peak in the year 2020..........

Many thanks, Alasdair, for that fine endorsement of (actually) why
I started EMF-L -- because I saw that the science was well ahead of
the political machinery in recognizing and reacting to the EMF hazard.
EMF-L regards its mission as: to overcome that political/industry BIAS
against the truth (which is also prostituting science itself) ... and
SOMEHOW to get the EMF 'truth' (in so far as we can identify it,
accurately and without the filter of government/industry dissembling)
out to the public......
That's why I say that the truthfullness (or UNtruthfullness) of our
government at ALL levels, including the RICH health bureaucracies,
IS IMPORTANT to the outcome of the EMF saga..... The Clinton-Lewinsky
affair provides us a good opportunity to make that point.....
