It seems to me that the companies are doing it without regard for proper process and respect for the citizens. Put up a temporary tower, don't tell anyone and then after it's been there for six or seven months - apply to make it higher and permanent. By that time it's too late and people roll over and they get away with it. Well now we have reached a situation were people are not going to roll over and we're fighting back. The tower in question is on a cement pad - so I wonder - if it would meet the definition of temporary. Also the vendor (Microcell) want to extend it from 60 to 90 feet. Another issue for me (and not too many people want to touch this one) is the effect on farm animals. In the yard next to the above noted tower is a beautiful horse that may or may not be suffering from the location of the tower. What's the information you have from Germany? I would like to get some information on cases brought against cell tower builders, landlords (people that have made their lots available), service providers and local government in these cases so that when this comes up before council again that all these players understand that they are potentially on the hook for big bucks when the ship hits the sand and they are being sued for damages. Do you have information related to (or point me to a source) for the work that is being done in and around schools (FACTS?). I think cell towers are the tobacco companies of the 90's and the breast implant problems all rolled into one. Anything you can provide me with is certainly appreciated. ---------- | From: Marty Tennant | To: Jim Ferguson | Subject: Re: Cell Towers | Date: Saturday, September 05, 1998 5:53 AM | | rbeavers@mail.llion.org | | Contact Roy Beavers at the address above.
