Great news!

The sprint pcs cell tower on church property located in unincorporated
Cook County, Il. was dismantled and removed on Saturday, September 4,
1999. The work took them over 12 hours, with the use of 2 huge cranes. I
have included a brief summary of a message I previously sent to you to
refresh your memory of some details.

Roy, to our knowledge, this is the first cell tower actually removed in
the U.S. Do you know if that is correct?

Larry Grabowski

The LaGrange Highlands, IL 120 ft cell tower that was illegally
constructed by Sprint PCS in late October, 1998, was ordered to be
removed by Sprint within 90 days after the Cook County, IL Zoning
Board of Appeals unanimously denied their variance today, January 20,
1999.

It is a major victory and shows what can be accomplished when neighbors
join together in a common cause. Donations from over a hundred local
residents as well as the local township government and civic
association helped pay legal fees and expert witness fees.
