.........From EMF-L.......

Sounds to me like the following will calculate **estimated** field
intensity from the base station only. That, of course, is not the same
as an actual measurement which would (should) pick up the base station
PLUS other emissions, thus providing better information about the actual
"Blue World" exposure present...... (In case you haven't noticed, guru
continues to be troubled about discussions of exposures which **assume**
ONLY the one NEW piece of emitting equipment...... These cases often
result in much more equipment being added-on later, after the tower is
constructed. AND, the emission characteristics of the later equipment
may be different as well!! ......I continue to believe that -- **so long
as we do not get proper governmental regulation AND MONITORING** --
the **real question** is: WHAT ARE WE OPENING THE DOOR TO --
IN THE FUTURE!!!!!......guru......)

Dear Roy

Your readers may be interested to hear about a new software package which
can calculate the emissions of a base station. Called, Base Station FIP
(Field Intensity Plotter), the package was developed by Telstra in
Australia. It calculates the emission levels of a base station when
relevant information is entered, depicts the EME levels graphically and can
be operated using Windows.

Telstra will market the package internationally and will launch the product
in Australia on 7th and 11th Sept (in Sydney and Melbourne respecively).
Public information sessions will be held later in the year.

Effectively, the software package will mean cheaper access to information
about emission levels for the community.

Best wishes
Lyn McLean
