Subject: Churchs and Towers (Carollin). Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2000 194449 -0500 From: Roy BeaversTo: guru -------------------------------------------------- ...........From EMF-L......... Bonnie has discovered the wheel!!!! The tower companies and power companies concentrate their activities in the lower income areas, she says..... Very true, Bonnie -- when they can...!!!! You will find some references to that, Bonnie, on my list ... going back as far as about the beginning ... in 1995. That is one of the things that causes guru to "rant and rave" about the soccer moms....!! For years they have avoided any concern about the power lines EMF hazards -- because the power lines were being built in the neighborhoods of the poor....... (For our foreign readers -- "soccer moms" are, by definition, at least "middle class" if not rich. They are "suburban.") Then -- along came the telecom towers. Of necessity ... it is harder for the companies to avoid the neighborhoods of the more wealthy (or middle class!!) when building out their system of cell phone towers. Suddenly ... the **soccer moms are aware of EMF hazards** ... because it is now happening in THEIR neighborhoods!!! After they "win" their fights in the suburbs, I ask them to NOT walk away from this EMF issue. Their help will still be needed on behalf of the power line hazards too......!!! (And ... in literally dozens of other "situations" as well.....) I hope their concern about EMF hazards will continue ... on behalf of the "poor" who usually must face the power line issue alone.....guru... -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Churchs and Towers Date: Tue, 12 Sep 2000 17:56:41 EDT From: Katnip364@aol.com To: roy@emfguru.com Dear Roy - We are currently in a battle that grows more sinister and sinister every day. I was reading through your messages and came across one: (Ferguson) (Kelley) Go, Wellfleet! (fwd) Date: Wed, 9 Dec 1998 092019 -0600 (CST) From: "Roy L. Beavers" To: emfguru Where Mr. Ferguson discusses the Church losing its no-tax status. We are going to have a "gloves-off" meeting tomorrow evening and the "Church" will be presenting its case along with Nextel and the City of Orlando. Is there ANYTHING of a legal stance on the "Church" losing its tax free status that I can use. Anything - cases currently pending, or better yet, cases tried and the church lost its tax free status. Thank you, Bonnie Carollin PS - Has anyone noticed that the majority of these towers are being pushed in blue collar or poorer neighborhoods??? At least in my area they are. The City has banned them in the affluent communities. Hmmmm. Archive provided courtesy of WaveGuide, http://www.wave-guide.org Reprinted with permission of Roy Beavers, http://www.emfguru.com
