Hi everybody:

This quick message is mostly for the Americans.

I have just returned from breakfast where I picked up a copy of today's
USA TODAY (Sep 25,2000).  Get it!!  And save the top headline story --
also an excellent full story inside -- FDA ADVISERS TIED TO INDUSTRY.

It is one of the best of a number of recent disclosures about "conflict 
of interest" in our government today....  The very situation that guru 
has been talking about on EMF-L for years.....  (See "conflicts" file 
on my website.  Also, much has been written in years past -- in the 
archives.)

In this case, USA TODAY is writing about the same agency that has 
charge of the research on possible cell phone (handset) health 
hazards...!!!

Great story, USA TODAY ... Well Done!!!  Now, don't stop....  There 
is more of this corruptive cancer in virtually ALL of the rest of our 
government -- including the White House and the Congress.....!!!

The kind of conflict of interest reported in this story is endemic in
the U.S. government.  And, judging by recent news items out of Europe
(Germany, Israel, etc.), this "American sickness" is not confined to 
the U.S of A......

It is a cancerous condition that (along with globalization) has begun 
to undermine the most fundamental democratic foundations of many 
Western nations....  

It a sickness that turns democracies into oligarchies....  Oligarchies 
that serve the interests of the RICH $$$$$$ special interests and the 
global (no national loyalty) $$$$$$$ corporations ... rather than 
their people....

In today's story, USA TODAY is writing about the pharmaceutical industry 
-- but the same can be written about other agencies and other governmental
scenarios in banking, energy, telecommunications, chemicals, agricultural conglomerates, etc......

We must continue to light the candles on this story wherever it appears
in our western society....!!  It is also part of the story of the "inertia
and malfeasance" that has controlled the destiny of the EMF saga......
