Subject: EMF's in the home (Davis) Date: Fri, 08 Sep 2000 030030 -0500 From: Roy BeaversTo: guru -------------------------------------------------- --------------93771E56F01800CFDAE06F10 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; x-mac-type="54455854"; x-mac-creator="4D4F5353" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit ..............From EMF-L....... This short question and answer is being forwarded to the entire list because it is a frequent kind of question that we do receive........ It should be emphasized (as stated below), that every situation is different and thus not readily answerable without actual EMF/EMR readings having been taken...... Still, we do not want to become known as "alarmists" who frighten people in ordinary ("safe") situations......guru answers question below...... Please email me back with an > answer if you can. Thanks!! BD, Austin, Texas BD Davis: It is not possible to answer your question without actually taking readings at the scene. There may even be other sources (other than the A/C unit) that could be more serious........ And, I do not have any idea what protection the qualities of "Texas stone" (sandstone??) might provide...... Assuming the A/C unit is not exceptionally large (more than about 2 or 2 1/2 tons), and assuming that everything is "grounded" with a return to the power source circuit (rather than to the "ground" around the house -- or to a "line" that would carry it back into the house), your parents' situation is probably OK......... It would not hurt for you to take some actual EMF measurements on the scene. If you obtain readings of more than 2 or 3 milligauss in the bedroom -- than some more action should probably be taken. Possibly, it would be enough to move the head of the bed. If you will check-out the kitchen (electric oven or microwave unit) you may find that you have more problems there than in the bedroom..... Also, check around the meter that brings the electricity "power delivery" into the house.... Be sure that no children are sleeping near that circuit-breaker box or the actual "drop" connection into the house..... Cheerio......
