Subject: EMR and Alzheimers (Royds). Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 155619 -0500 From: Roy BeaversTo: guru -------------------------------------------------- ...........From EMF-L....... John Royds correctly raises the matter of some past research by Dr.Eugene Sobel of Southern Cal, in the U.S. Gene?? Any comment?? ......guru..... Sometimes the medical doctors do not realize how much they are promoting public ignorance ... when they fail to question the "inertia and malfeasance" of the the government/industry doctors and "scientists" ... when they accept without question the information they are provided by the "conventional wisdom" medical establishment. Thus -- as below -- it does not occur to them to mention the most likely change in our environment that **could** explain the sudden rise in Alzheimer's cases: EMF ... the Blue World explosion.... Actually, as our long-time readers know, we have discussed this many times on EMF-L.....guru...... -------- Original Message -------- Subject: EMR and Alzheimers Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2000 20:03:04 +0100 From: "John Royds" To: References: <39C4F237.181EF4BB@emfguru.com> Roy: "The Observer" is a quality British Sunday broadhsheet newspaper. Yesterday, 17 September, they ran a story entitled "Alzheimer's spreads to under-40s". Here is a quote from Dr Richard Harvey, director of research at the Alzheimer's Society: "The number of young people diagnosed has increased dramatically -- it has doubled, or more than that, in 10 years". The article goes on to say that doctors are baffled by the cause of the rise. Nowhere in the whole article is it even suggested that the colossal increase in microwave exposure to the brain's of under-40s resulting from mobile phone use could be factor. I find this spine-chilling. It was in 1996 that Sobel and Davanipour outlined a potential biological pathway by which electric fields can disturb the normal concentrations of calcium ions within cells. They postulated that this could trigger a well-known cascade of reactions that ultimately leads to the accumulation of damaging plaques and tangles in the brain. There are many epidemiological studies linking occupational EMR exposure with increased risk of Alzheimer's Disease. Could those on EMF-L with information on Alzheimer's and EMR please email the author of the article anthony.browne@observer.co.uk. I have searched the UK's Alzheimer's site www.alzheimers.org.uk and can find no reference at all to mobile phone/EMR and Alzheimer's. best wishes, John Royds Timmore House Newcastle Greystones Co.
