Dear Roy: I thought I would tell you about the proposed tower that we fought tonight and
won! I am too excited about our victory. Me and a lawyer spoke in opposition to a
proposed Bright PCS (Sprint) tower. The lawyer brought up the state statute about the 4
criteria that have to be met, basically it could not harm the environment, health or
welfare of the nearby neighbors for the granting of the variance for the tower. I brought
up the health insurance, studies about adverse health effects, now that I have some I know
first hand what I am talking about, interference with the telephones, how the tower does
not blend into the neighboring community and that I believe that Sprint already has
coverages for their services or else people would not be driving from South Bend through
Mishawaka without interruption. The council voted down the application of Sprint. The
Sprint representative has been working on this project for 1 year already and was beaten
by only 2 people, what a triumph. The first for our area. Although I have to mention
that the Sprint guy who is from Ohio came into the meeting and sat next to our Major.
When the 2 of us were speaking against Sprint the Major's body language was very angry. I
don't think that it is coincidence that all the tower owners sit next to the Major for
support at these meetings, this guy was from another state, I doubt they are buddies. I
truly believe there is some other thing going on, like maybe $$$. Just thought you could
use some good news for a change and thank you for your support and help, I wouldn't of
been there tonight if it wasn't for devoted informative assistance. Take care, Bonnie
