Davis was an excellent one; however, since moving the head of the bed to another wall is usually easy and relatively painless (esthetically, that is), I would recommend doing just that. In situations like this, without significant/obvious health problems, I certainly agree "we shouldn't be alarmists" and I also question whether it would merit spending $200 or so for a gaussmeter to compare magnetic field readings between the sleeping area and the kitchen. I, of course, am not an expert (personal/family EMR-related health problems only) but I have to say that it always gets me stirred up when the power companies put out brochures (they used to be available on request) that they, "industry" use to attempt to belittle the seriousness of the issues. One does not typically stand for hours and hours, days on end, in front of an electric oven. The same would apply to any electrical appliance, microwave, etc. Since much of the research does seem to focus on the pineal gland and melatonin, and we absolutely know for certain that moving the beds of our two grandsons brought about remarkable improvement, "moving the head of the bed" should be a public service announcement that is based on common sense no matter what the gaussmeter shows. There are also the issues of possible transients, etc. that can't be measured with a gaussmeter.
