Well, you know, there's a problem with such "patient groups" -- they're funded by the industry, so they're not interested in real causes, just in treating symptoms with drugs. In a report about the recent Swiss mercury--Alzheimer study [1], the Swiss consumer health magazine "PulsTip" wrote that when asked about the mercury link, the Alzheimer's "patient organization"/"self-help group" refused to reply, even after several inquiries by the magazine. The Parkinson's organization replied that they "know of no studies related to mercury." (although there are dozens in Medline) The reporter was puzzled why these organizations -- who are supposed to help patients -- stubbornly refuse the mercury link, even when their noses are pushed on it. Then he found out the reason: Both "patient organizations" are funded by the drug industry. Patient indeed! Cheerio, Chris [1] G.
