On September 18th, we (EMF-L) carried a news report forwarded by John Royds (U.K.) which contained information purporting to show an increase in Alzheimer's cases -- and in younger age groups. I asked our best expert on that subject to comment. His response is below......guru...... -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: EMR and Alzheimers (Royds). In addition, blindness is not, I think, related to Alzheimer's disease - certainly not in the literature. Community-based physicians do not diagnosis AD or even dementia very well. There are evidently no studies of an increase in early onset AD. It is thought that late onset AD may be increasing, but the lack of population-based studies makes it difficult to determine whether there are reasons other than the aging of the population. In addition, Davanipour and I were concerned with magnetic fields not electric fields in our 1996 paper. We do have additional hypotheses and we and our colleagues are hoping to have some very preliminary data soon.
