This report has a complete tabulation of the dielectric permittivity and the electrical conductivity of 30 different kinds of tissues from humans and animals. I have found it quite useful when I have calculated the absorption coefficient of human brain tissue (grey matter) as a function of frequency. I obtained this report by requesting it directly from Brooks Air Force Base, Texas. It was published by the Occupational and Environmental Health Directorate Radiofrequency Radiation Division, 2503 Gillingham Drive, Brooks Air Force Base, Texas 78235-5102, USA. The author, Dr. Camelia Gabriel, was (at the time of this work) a professor at the University of London, and she has published much of the same material under her own name in journals that are available internationally. I think that Bioelectromagnetics may be one place where she has published, but I am not certain. Try searching for her articles in MedLine, which is an arm of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (part of the National Institutes of Health). You can access the PubMed search engine for MedLine at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi. I searched on the name Gabriel C and found three pertinent references among 72 total. The three that I found are Gabriel S, Lau RW, Gabriel C. The dielectric properties of biological tissues: III. Parametric models for the dielectric spectrum of tissues. Phys Med Biol. 1996 Nov;41(11):2271-93. PMID: 8938026; UI: 97092361 Gabriel S, Lau RW, Gabriel C. The dielectric properties of biological tissues: II. The dielectric properties of biological tissues: I. Literature survey. Phys Med Biol. 1996 Nov;41(11):2231-49. Review. PMID: 8938024; UI: 97092359 If you are unable to obtain the Air Force report directly from Brooks AFB, write to the National Technical Information Services (NTIS), 5285 Port Royal Road, Springfield, Virginia 22161-2103, USA and ask them to send you a copy. They are authorized to release the report to the general public, including foreign nationals such as yourself. You will have to pay a nominal copying fee and mailing fee, but I don't know how much that will cost. You will have to find out from NTIS. If you are unable to obtain either the report or the journal articles, please write me and I will see that you get a copy of the report. Please try all the other means of getting the report or journal articles, because the report is 267 pages long, so it will be quite expensive for me to have it copied and sent to you. Nevertheless, I am willing to do this if all other suggested methods for you to get the information fail. Good luck in your endeavors. I would like to keep in touch with you. Sincerely yours, Bill Curry Roy Beavers wrote: > > ...........Request from EMF-L.......
